Being that Pisces is a water sign symbolized by two fish, they tend to be most happy with a tropical vacation … or at least somewhere near water. On one hand, Pisces folk love to put their feet up and get lost in their imagination. However, they have an adventurous streak as well which helps them unwind and recharge. The ultimate vacation locations for Pisces are somewhere they can merge with the natural world around them (whether by relaxing or engaging the surroundings) and completely let go of the modern world.

Port Douglas, Australia

An hour drive north of Cairns in Queensland, Port Douglas is THE destination for nature lovers. This upscale town offers itself as a super convenient base for reef trips and wilderness safaris. The Great Barrier Reef is close offering incredible diving and snorkeling, and the Daintree Rainforest (part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Site) which is the gateway to the stunning waters of Cape Tribulation.

The town itself offers picturesque streets lined with mango trees and palms, as well as an assortment of high-end shops, cafes, and art galleries. It also boasts Four Mile Beach; a beautiful sandy crescent bordered by lush jungle vegetation. Swimming is restricted during marine stinger season (November through June), but the walk on the beach is just as stunning. Cape York Peninsula should also be on your to-do list when you’re in the area; as well as the many opportunities to get aboard a fishing charter.

Winter season is the prime time to take in this area as temperatures become cooler (but still tropical) and the rain tends to take a break for this time.

Puerto Escondido, Mexico

If you are seeking a getaway from the world that is off the beaten path, with hundreds of kilometers of virgin beaches, this is it. Located on the Oaxacan coast, Puerto Escondido is a surfing haven for those who like to seek adventure; yet it is completely off the mainstream tourist radar if quiet time is your thing. There are no direct flights here from Canada or the US and there are very few big resort hotels.

The area offers a paradise of fresh local seafood as local fishermen bring fresh fish to the shores every morning. Shops and cafes offer locally grown fruit in smoothie bars, locally sourced (and roasted) coffee in addition to the amazing tastes of traditional Oaxacan dishes. Activities that are specific to the area are surfing, boat trips to see dolphins, sea turtles and whales, a baby turtle release or the very popular moonlight swim in water filled with bioluminescence.

Fiji

There are perhaps no countries more postcard-worthy than Fiji. Made up of over 300 islands, Fiji is home to some of the world’s most breathtaking resorts and is famous for its overwater bungalows. These resorts are truly a vacation paradise that offer a variety of activities … if you can tear yourself away from some of the stunning views from your own suite!

Fiji’s stunning resorts offer up amenities such as hammocks above blue water lagoons and private decks with steps right down to the water. All of the resorts offer spas, fine dining, golf, snorkeling, cooking classes as well as nightlife and local tours.

Some notable Fijian gems to visit are Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park, Natadola Beach, Lavana Coastal walk from the beach to the waterfall, Great Astrolabe Reef, Kula Eco Park, Garden of the Sleeping Giant, Sabeto Hot Springs and the Nadi Mud Pool.
